Ranchi: Senior IAS officer and former tourism secretary of the state Sajal Chakravarty today said that security arrangements should be beefed up at boating venues in the
state.
Rubbishing allegations regarding his fault in the recent Bada Talab mishap in Ranchi, he said the people wishing to go for boating should be first provided with safety jackets before being allowed to go in water.
He said the maximum capacity of boats should not be crossed under any circumstances. He admitted that he had driven a boat once before the mishap.
