Jamshedpur, Sep 25: A special event celebrating Dinkar Jayanti and a book launch was organized by the multilingual literary organization Sahyog at Tulsi Bhawan. The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, Dr. Shakuntala Pathak, followed by a melodious welcome song by Chhaya Prasad, who also honoured the guests.
Nivedita Shrivastava spoke at length about the timeless works and personality of renowned poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, urging literature enthusiasts to explore his book Sanskriti. She highlighted how Dinkar’s writings remain relevant across generations.
The highlight of the evening was the launch of Dr. Asha Shrivastava’s latest book by Dr. Pathak, who remarked that literature transcends writing and encompasses deep emotions. Dr. Asha Shrivastava, known for her continuous contribution to literature over the past 25 years, dedicated her novel Moh Moh Ke Dhage to her mother. Professor Pamela Ghosh Dutta of DBMS College discussed the emotional depth of the novel, calling it a true tribute to maternal love.
Throughout the program, Dr. Asha Shrivastava reflected on her literary journey and acknowledged the support she received from stalwarts like Father Kamil Bulke, Nirmal Milind, Dineshwar Singh, and Tribhuvan Ojha.
Senior member Brijendra Nath Mishra, recently honoured by the Uttar Pradesh government for his contributions to literature, was felicitated during the event. The program was seamlessly conducted by President Award recipient Dr. Anita Sharma, earning high praise from attendees.
Dr. Juhi Samarpita shared a memorable anecdote about Dinkar’s involvement in Indian politics, emphasizing the power of literature to support and guide political thought. She urged writers to harness the strength of their pens to bring positive change.
Secretary Vidya Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks, and the event was attended by a large gathering of the city’s literary community, including BK Srivastava, Hari Mittal, Aruna Jha, and many others. (w/nkm)
