Ranchi: On the concluding day of the book festival, the first session centered around the theme ‘Literature and Politics.’ Dharmendra Sushant engaged in a conversation with Mahua Maji, a JMM Rajya Sabha MP and a noted litterateur, discussing her literary contributions and political journey.
Expressing gratitude to Rajkamal Prakashan and TRI for fostering a literary environment through the book festival in Ranchi, Mahua Maji highlighted that despite her foray into politics, the writer within her remains alive. Literature, she noted, has instilled in her the sensitivity necessary for navigating the political landscape. In response to a question about development or destruction, she criticized the Central Government for passing a new Forest Bill that she perceived as an attempt to exploit the forests.
On the topic of the Sahitya Academy, Maji announced that a Sahitya Academy will soon be established in Jharkhand. As the event concluded, Mahua Maji honored the winners of the Tribal Cuisine Competition of Tribal Festival 2023 with cash prizes. The seven-day book festival, organized jointly by Rajkamal Publishing Group and Dr. Ramdayal Munda Tribal Welfare Research Institute (TRI), came to an end, drawing active participation from a diverse audience.
