Tata Steel observes worldsteel day for Safety and Health
Jamshedpur, April 28: Tata Steel celebrated worldsteel Day for Safety and Health by organizing a series of safety-related actions, engagements, and communication initiatives across its worksites.
Taking this opportunity, Tata Steel aimed to spread awareness about eliminating commonly accepted unsafe practices, focusing on five key safety hazards at the shop-floor level. The company conducted mass communication meetings, shared safety messages via social media, and organized knowledge-sharing sessions on best practices for its employees.

As part of the celebrations, Tata Steel hosted a webinar themed “Construction Safety Best Practices,” which was attended online by employees across various locations.
Addressing the participants, Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel, emphasized the importance of prioritizing construction safety. He highlighted how Tata Steel is fostering a strong safety culture to drive changes in workers’ risk perception and ensure a safer work environment.

Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief Safety Officer, Tata Steel, introduced the keynote speaker, Yogesh Srivastava, Vice President and Head EHS at Tata Projects Limited. Srivastava, a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in EHS, Sustainability, and Business Excellence, shared insights on construction safety practices implemented at Tata Projects.
During his address, Srivastava discussed key initiatives such as the Safety Risk Index, Risk Reduction Plans, Potential Severe Event identification, and the adoption of Virtual Reality (VR) training for high-risk operations, which particularly captured the audience’s interest.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where Srivastava answered questions from participants, further enriching the learning experience.
