Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Evacuation drill was conducted in Chinmaya Vidyalaya South Park by SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) wherein 1200 students were evacuated safely. Fire Brigade team supported the mock drill. Students and teachers were apprised about processes to be followed, like emergency response plan, specified evacuation routes and other necessary requirements. The condition of fire extinguishers was also checked by Fire Brigade team.
Mom Mitra, Convenor SAFE and Manager Safety, Tata Steel, Kamal Anand, Manager Disaster Management, Jagjeet Singh and Santosh Shukla from Fire Services Tata Steel facilitated the drill.
Uttam Verma, SAFE coordinator and other teachers supported the event.
SAFE organizes these initiatives on a regular basis to increase awareness among school children on various topics. SAFE club is a conglomerate of schools of Jamshedpur chaired by Ruchi Narendran. Tata Steel facilitates this initiative by conducting relevant trainings and evacuation drills for schools.
