Sacred Heart Convent School Jamshedpur wins ASISC Zonal Debate

Jamshedpur, June 25: RVS Academy, Dimna Road, Mango, hosted the ASISC Zonal Debate Competition 2025 (Senior Category) on June 25, continuing its commitment to fostering critical thinking and articulate expression among students. The topic for this year’s debate was “Mental Health Education Should Be a Mandatory Part of the Curriculum,” which drew passionate responses from senior students of CISCE-affiliated schools. Participants presented well-researched arguments and compelling viewpoints, emphasizing the growing importance of mental health awareness in today’s education system.

The event was graced by the presence of Binda Singh, Chairman of RVS Academy, along with Principal Veesha Mohindra and Vice Principal Puja Suman. Dr. Parineeta Shukla, Principal of RMS High School, Sonari, served as the Moderator for the event. A panel of experienced English teachers from renowned institutions judged the competition based on key parameters such as content, clarity, delivery and rebuttal.

After a series of powerful and engaging debates, the results were declared. Pragya Singh of Sacred Heart Convent School was awarded Best Speaker For the Motion, while Lakshita Chaudhary of Loyola School won Best Speaker Against the Motion. Hill Top School secured the position of Second Runners-Up, Loyola School was declared First Runners-Up and Sacred Heart Convent School emerged as the overall Winner of the competition. Both Best Speakers have qualified for the upcoming ASISC Regional Debate Competition, showcasing their exceptional debating skills and persuasive abilities.
