Our Graduates Are the Torchbearers of the Sacred Heart Legacy: Principal Sister Steffi A.C.
Jamshedpur, January 30: Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, organized a grand and emotionally enriching Graduation Nite for the Class of 2026 at the school premises on Thursday evening. The ceremony beautifully blended tradition, celebration, and reflection, marking the students’ transition from school life to the wider world.

The programme began with the Grand Procession, a cherished school tradition. The graduating students, dressed in formal attire, marched solemnly across the campus, led by the Sisters and accompanied by the teaching and non-teaching staff. The procession symbolized the students’ final journey through the school corridors and their readiness to step into a new phase of life.

This was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony, signifying the spread of knowledge, truth, and service. The glowing lamps reflected the values the institution strives to instill in every student.

The highlight of the evening was the Awards Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding achievements of the Class of 2026 were recognized. Principal Sister Steffi A.C., along with Manager Sister M. Serena A.C. and Vice-Principal Sister Jacinta Taoro A.C., presented awards for academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to school values.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Sister Steffi A.C. said, “Our graduates are the torchbearers of the Sacred Heart legacy. The solemnity of tonight’s march reflects the character and grace they have developed here. As they leave us, we pray they carry the light of truth and service wherever they go.”

The school choir then performed a specially composed motivational song, inspiring the graduates to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.
The Valedictory Address was delivered by School President Kanishka Chopra, who spoke on behalf of the Class of 2026. She reflected on the journey of the students from timid young girls to confident women, expressing gratitude to teachers, parents, and the institution for their constant guidance and support.
One of the most awaited moments of the evening was the announcement of top honors. Shambhavi Tewari was awarded the title of “Most Outstanding Student” for her consistent academic excellence, integrity, and exemplary conduct. The “Best All-Rounder” award was presented to Anshika for her balanced performance in academics, sports, arts, and leadership activities.
Several Special Category Awards were also presented to students who made remarkable contributions in different fields, celebrating the diverse talents of the graduating batch.
The programme also featured a Parental Address by Professor Sumit Sarkar of XLRI Jamshedpur. He praised the school for nurturing confident and compassionate young women and highlighted the strong bond between parents and the institution in shaping the students’ future.
The emotional high point of the evening came during the Candle Lighting Ceremony. As the school lawn was darkened, a single flame was passed from the school leadership to the School President and then to each graduate. Soon, hundreds of candles illuminated the space as the song “Carry Your Candle” played in the background, symbolizing the students’ commitment to spread light and positivity in society.
The ceremony concluded with the Ceremonial Send-Off and the collective singing of the school anthem, “Hail Our School,” reinforcing the lifelong connection between the graduates and their alma mater.
The Graduation Nite stood as a memorable tribute to the achievements, values, and bright future of the Sacred Heart Convent School Class of 2026.
