Jamshedpur, April 11: Students of Jamshedpur have time and again proved their mettle with their brilliant academic performances. Dulcie Suri, alumnus of Sacred heart Convent School and currently a final year student of Lovely Professional Universitys (LPU) Film and Television Production Programme in Jalandhar, Punjab has been selected by Americas Indiana University on full-scholarship for workshop on film-making.

The prestigious scholarship includes Dulcies all air-fares, hostel & food fees, programme fees and expenses for various projects covered during the workshop.

Selected as one among 15 students from across India, Jamshedpur girl Dulcie Suri will team up with her Pakistani & other counter-parts from Punjab region to discover common ground in their joint creative works, crossing all cultural, political and geographic barriers. The theme of the workshop is Beyond Borders: A Workshop of Filmmaking across the Punjab Region of India & Pakistan.

Under the versatile guidance of all of my teachers at LPU; I have been able to touch socially prevalent serious problems including terrorism, transgender issue, and even female genital mutation.

She further said, One of my short films Unfortunate Day is about killing of hundreds of innocent school children in Peshawar (Pakistan) few years back. Another, Blood Donation mockingly criticizes growing suicidal attempts among young students and inspires for blood and body parts donations to help other living ones. My Ad-Film Men will be Men reveals mans dominance in the society.

All of these works are of global importance and awakening, the creative thinking and social feeling for which was instilled in me only by my teachers, fellow friends and great environment of global diversity at LPU.
