Sachin Pilot inaugurates XLRI fest Ensemble Valhalla

Jamshedpur: Ensemble Valhalla, XLRI’s annual cultural, sports, and management festival, organized its first-ever virtual inauguration ceremony on 4th March 2021. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Sachin Pilot, former Union Minister and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, along with massive participation from students, faculty, and staff members alike. The theme of the fest for this year is “Escapade” – A New Journey Awaits. It encourages people to overcome the monotony of life, and daringly take off on a journey of adventure and thrill.

The inauguration commenced with a short introduction by Ensemble Valhalla’s convenors, Rishabh Sharma and Sarthak Harnathka, followed by a warm welcome address by Prof. Gourav Vallabh, Professor of Finance at XLRI. The event was also attended by Fr. P. Christie, Director of XLRI; Ranaveer Sinha, President of XLRI Alumni Association and Member of the Board of Governors, XLRI; Fr. Nelson D’Silva, Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Administration; Professor Smitu Malhotra, Associate Dean of Student Affairs for Women Students; Professor Ashis K. Pani, Dean of Academics; and Fr. Donald D’Silva, Dean of Administration & Finance.

The audience was then addressed by the Chief Guest, Sachin Pilot, who delivered the inaugural speech. He spoke about how the pandemic can be viewed as a blessing that has brought us together and has opened up avenues for innovation and new ways of life. Emphasizing the joys of being young and on campus, Pilot declared the fest open. 

Pilot’s speech was followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Fr Nelson D’Silva. The ceremony concluded with an Inaugural video for Ensemble Valhalla 2021, detailing all the events scheduled for the 3-day extravaganza from 5th-7th March 2021.

 The annual cultural, sports, and management festival, to be held from 5th March -7th March 2021.This year, for the first time this festival is being celebrated online. Despite this, neither the organizers nor the participants are feeling any kind of lack of enthusiasm. In the annual festival, different kinds of activities will be organized keeping in mind the interests of each student. Spread over three days, Ensemble Valhalla 2021 (5 -7 March) will be the theme of “Escapade” – A New Journey Awaits.

One of the highlights of the fest is the Idea Summit, where film and television giants including Imtiaz Ali, Rajat Sharma and Mithila Palkar will come forward and share their experiences with students. Famous singers KK and Ankit Tiwari will also attend Ensemble Valhalla 2021.

Along with all these, the cast & crew of “Mirzapur” will be present Ali Fazal, Harshita, Anjum and Puneet. YouTube’s emerging artists Janis, Yash Raj, Sejal, Prajakta, Barkha and Divyanshu will also elaborate on their struggles and journey. It will be in the hands of Rahul Subramanian and Sejal Bhat to make the atmosphere happy.

While Ensemble celebrates business sense and logic, Valhalla promises to be a cultural extravaganza that salutes sportsmanship, creativity, and passion. Through the various events and festivities, Ensemble-Valhalla hopes to transcend a great leader to even greater heights.

Ensemble Valhalla 2021 will also be an opportunity to host literary, cultural and business events, giving students the opportunity to interact with their effective leaders. XLRI, Ensemble Valhalla will welcome many institutes and their alumni in the online medium.

Ensemble-Valhalla is the annual cultural, sports, and management fest of XLRI. XLRI’s flagship fest, Ensemble-Valhalla, has witnessed participation from various B-schools across the country and performances by renowned artists. Ensemble Valhalla 2021 will be a 3-day extravaganza with panel discussions featuring the likes of Imtiaz Ali, Mithila Palkar, Aparshakti Khurana, Nitin Baid, Sneha Menon Desai, Yashraj Mukhate, Barkha Singh, Prajakta Koli, Sejal Kumar, Divyanshu Damani, and Janice Sequeira. The fest will also witness a live virtual performance by Bhuwin Khursija and a stellar pro-show lineup featuring Bass Jackers, Ankit Tiwari, Rahul Subramanian, Sejal Bhat and KK. The multifaceted fest is expected to be a grand celebration of spirit and character encompassing the values and integrity of India’s oldest business management school.
