Jamshedpur: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti was celebrated with great fervour at Sonari on Tuesday under the aegis of Sabuj Sangh. The outfit chairman RK Shahi, president Ashok Kumar Goel and others paid floral tributes to Netaji on his birth anniversary and remembered him as one of the most courageous freedom fighters of the country. A blood donation camp was organized at the community building in Sonari East Layout on this occasion. A total of 46 units of blood were collected on the occasion.
Shahi, in his address, praised the blood donors for their noble deed and termed blood donation as a great humanitarian initiative. Goel said the city had no dearth of people raring to save the lives of others by donating blood.
Those who made the event successful included Kajal Mukherjee, Kamal mahato, Sajal Das, Pradip Banerjee, Ashok Banerjee, Pramod Mukherjee, Amal Mitra, Tapa Sen and Sajal Das.
