RVSCET Jamshedpur-NIELIT Ranchi MoU to strengthen skill development

Jamshedpur, June 10: In a significant step towards enhancing technical education and skill development, RVS College of Engineering and Technology (RVSCET), Jamshedpur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Ranchi. The collaboration aims to promote innovation, creativity, and employability among students in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The partnership will focus on developing expertise in management, technology, finance, digital skills, and emerging technologies. Through this agreement, students will gain access to a wide range of opportunities, including summer internships, placement assistance, industrial visits, academic projects, and student exchange programmes designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

The MoU also provides for the organization of training and certification programmes, workshops, seminars, and national as well as international conferences for students, faculty members, and industry professionals. Both institutions have agreed to collaborate on research projects and consultancy services, creating a platform for knowledge sharing and innovation.

Corporate training programmes will be conducted for government departments, public sector undertakings, and private industry professionals. The collaboration will also explore integrating training programmes conducted under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) into credit-based university courses, thereby strengthening the skill ecosystem in higher education.

The agreement was formally signed by Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Kumar Puri, Executive Director of NIELIT Ranchi, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal of RVSCET. The signing ceremony was attended by Sachin Kumar Dhar Dwivedi, Senior Technical Officer at NIELIT Ranchi; Bharat Singh, Secretary of RVS Educational Trust; Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Sharma, Head of the Training and Placement Department; and Dr. Sushant Mohanty.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Singh emphasized that the collaboration would help equip students with industry-relevant skills and provide exposure to advanced technologies, practical training, and improved career prospects. Representatives of both institutions described the MoU as a major step towards strengthening education, research, innovation, and skill development.

The agreement will initially remain in force for three years and may be extended further through mutual consent, paving the way for long-term academic and professional collaboration.
