RVS Academy remembers Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, R.V.S Academy held a special assembly. The Principal of the school, teachers and students paid homage to the great leader. The children presented speech on Bhagat Singh. The assembly reverberated with patriotic slogans and songs.

Bhagat Singh, born on the 28th of September, 1907, in Western Punjab (now in Pakistan) was an Indian Socialist Revolutionary whose two acts of dramatic violence against the British in India and execution at age 23 made him a folk hero of the Indian Independence Movement.

Bhagat Singh attended Dayanand Anglo Vedic High School which was operated by Arya Samaj and then National College, both in Lahore. He gave his life for restoring power to the people. He began to protest British rule in India while still a youth and soon fought for National Independence. He also worked as a writer and editor in Amritsar for the Punjabi and Urdu newspaper.
