Seraikela, June 28: A 28 year-old man, identified as Shambhu Bhanj, a contract worker at Rungta Steel Limited, Chaliama, under Rajnagar police station area, died on duty late Monday night.
Sources said the incident occurred around 2 am. The deceased reportedly fell into an oven from 35 feet height and died instantly. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Local villagers blocked the company gate to demand compensation for the next of kin of the deceased. The next of kin of the deceased demanded Rs 25 lakh in compensation and threatened to intensify stir tomorrow in case their demand was not fulfilled today.
