Jamshedpur, June 28: A delegation of Santan Utsav Samiti handed over a memorandum to East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav on Tuesday to demand strict measures against local land mafia to prevent illegal sale of government land.
The outfit leader Appu Tiwary alleged that the land sharks of the area were busy selling government land despite there being a ban on their sale. He said the land mafia enjoyed support from the powers-that-be and rarely did police act against them.
