Ruckus over funds misuse at Beldih Church

Jamshedpur, Feb 28: Ruckus was created during the annual general body meeting of Beldih Church at Bistupur over misappropriation of funds and other anomalies on Sunday.
Few custodians of the church also raised voice but their protest was ignored though they claimed that they were life members of the church.
The existing executive committee are in favour of election but they want that the earlier committee should first give account of the misappropriation of funds.
Several members raised their protest during the annual general body meeting wherein the issue of paying of Rs 8 lakh to an official and misappropriation has been raised. There were issues of DVR being stolen, there is mis-match of cash worth Rs 8.5 lakh in the church account.
One of the custodian, Naval allleged that the president had claimed that every year there will be election and informed the SDO Dhalbhum but soon after transfer of the SDO the existing committee stayed for two years and claimed that the church is run by Christian Service Society and there is illegal construction in the church and when he raised this issue he was sent out. The custodian Naval alleged that whosoever raises voices against committee’s ill deeds they are asked to go out.
The current president Pradeep informed that those who are protesting have already had their membership terminated and are making baseless allegations.
The president clarified that due to Covid-19 they have cancelled their annual general body meeting and they do not accept the meeting held in church as there are some members whose membership have been terminated and some are suspended.
