Jamshedpur, December 5:St. Mary’s English High School, Bistupur celebrated annual sports day with enthusiasm at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday. The event showcased spirited participation, teamwork, and strong sportsmanship from students across all grades.
The day began with the arrival of Principal Rev. Father Vernon D’Souza and Chief Guest Rupa Rani Tirkey, District Sports Officer, West Singhbhum. The programme opened with a graceful Prayer Dance and Song performed by the students, creating a divine and positive atmosphere.
A well-coordinated March Past followed, with students from different houses marching in perfect alignment, exhibiting discipline and pride.

Various sports activities were organised for both the Junior and Senior groups. The younger students participated in fun competitions such as the Balancing Race and Spider Race, displaying agility and enthusiasm.
Senior athletes took part in competitive track events, including the 100-metre and 200-metre races, along with the thrilling Relay Race. The Tug of War event drew loud cheers and brought alive the spirit of teamwork and healthy rivalry.

An eye-catching Smart Drill Display by NCC Cadets stood out as a major attraction. Their sharp movements, discipline and perfect formations received high applause from the audience and highlighted the school’s focus on holistic development and patriotism.
The Chief Guest presented medals and trophies to the winners and appreciated the school for promoting sports alongside academics. She encouraged children to take up sports as an important part of their overall growth.

In the overall results, Ruby House was declared the Overall Champion, while Emerald House finished as Runner-up.
The closing ceremony was graced by Raj Kumar Singh as the Guest of Honour. The event concluded with the School Anthem, marking a day filled with pride, achievement, and unity.
