Mantasha, Shambhavi and Meghna bag Best Athlete honours
Jamshedpur, Dec 8: J.H. Tarapore School celebrated its 23rd Annual Sports Day with great energy and enthusiasm on Monday, turning the school grounds into a vibrant arena of sportsmanship, teamwork and celebration.
The event began with a formal welcome to the Chief Guest, School Director Rubina Bodhanwala, who was received by Principal Lata Sharat and Vice Principal Rukshana Gardin. The school also warmly welcomed former Director Nargis A. Madon as the special guest for the occasion. The Chief Guest hoisted the school flag and officially declared the sports meet open.
A proud and well-coordinated March Past by students of Classes IX to XII set the tone for the day. The parade was led by School Pupil Leader Vanya Pandey and Assistant School Pupil Leader Sreyangsi Chakraborty. The torch-lighting ceremony was carried out by student achievers Ayesha Baig, Pragya Bhardwaj, Shubangee Saha, Anshika Sharma, Nandini Singh and Hiba Firdous. Following this, Sports Minister Meghna Giri and Assistant Sports Minister Yashika administered the Sportsman’s Oath.
Primary and middle school students added joy to the field with fun-filled events like The Happy Scoops Run, Toe-tastic Challenge, Collector’s Crunch and The Obstacle Dash. A beautifully synchronised yoga display showcased grace, balance and coordination. Senior students then competed in the 100m and 200m races, displaying speed and determination, earning loud cheers from the crowd. Lively Tug of War matches and special events for faculty and didis kept the excitement high till the end.
The meet concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, recognising the talents and hard work of students. Best March Past – Ruby House, Best House – Ruby House, Best Athlete (High School) – Mantasha Khan (VIII A), Best Athletes (Higher Secondary) – Shambhavi Pathak (XI B) & Meghna Giri (XII A)
