CII Jharkhand chairman highlights India’s strength in teamwork and quality
Jamshedpur, Dec 13: The 37th Convention on QC Circles, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand, was held over two days and highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across industries. The event brought together quality professionals from various sectors to exchange ideas, share best practices, and showcase achievements in Quality Circles (QC).
The convention featured interactive sessions, case study presentations, and discussions emphasizing teamwork, problem-solving, and employee involvement in driving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and achieving sustainable growth. A total of 24 teams from large-scale enterprises and MSMEs participated, underscoring the region’s commitment to quality management.
Ranjot Singh, Chairman of the CII Jharkhand State Council and Managing Director of Emdet Jamshedpur Pvt Ltd, inaugurated the event. He praised India’s cultural roots in quality work and teamwork, citing global practices like Kaizen and continuous improvement.
He said that teamwork and doing quality work come naturally to us, which is what quality circles are all about. He also encouraged the participants, praising their courage and dedication to taking part in the competition.
Biswajit Jena, Associate Vice President of RSB Transmissions Limited highlighted CII’s longstanding initiatives in quality management since 1986 and emphasized India’s significant strides in quality improvement, comparing it to global standards.

The esteemed jury members—Prof Chandreshwar Khan, Deepak Mishra, and C. K. Mani—spoke on the far-reaching impact of quality circles in both organizational and personal development. They emphasized the mindset of continuous improvement, the importance of teamwork, and the need to innovate and align efforts for achieving excellence.
The winners of the 37th QC Circles Convention were: Team Safety Champions from RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd, claimed the overall winner title, followed by QC Team Ujjala from Tata Motors Limited as the 1st runner-up. Team Utkarsh from Automotive Axles Pvt Ltd secured the 2nd runner-up position, while Team Achievement from TRF Ltd was awarded the 3rd runner-up.
In the MSME category, Team Highco from Highco Engineers Pvt Ltd emerged as the winner, and Team Himalaya Pragati from Himalaya Enterprises Pvt Ltd took the runner-up spot.
The winners were felicitated by Diloo Parikh, Chairman of the CII Jamshedpur Zonal Council, and Tapas Sahu, Past Chairman of CII Jharkhand State Council.
The event demonstrated the critical role of quality circles in driving organizational growth and operational efficiency. It provided a unique platform for knowledge-sharing, inspiring participants to integrate quality management practices into their daily work.
The 37th QC Circles Convention reaffirmed CII Jharkhand’s commitment to supporting industries with resources and expertise to promote innovation, excellence, and sustainable progress across the region.
