Jamshedpur, July 18: RSB Global celebrated the 2nd anniversary of its pioneering initiative, ‘Ek Pahal.’ Conceived by Chairman R. K. Behera and Vice Chairman S. K. Behera, ‘Ek Pahal’ aimed to empower women and boost female employment within the company and the surrounding community.
The anniversary celebration was attended by distinguished guests Padma Shree awardee Chami Murmu, renowned boxer Aruna Mishra, and Swati Sharma, who secured the 17th rank in this year’s UPSC exams. Organized under the leadership of Nirmala Behera, the program commenced in the presence of Sangeeta Behera and other eminent personalities. Over 200 female employees from various plants participated.
Nirmala Behera, Executive Director, Group HR, addressed the gathering, observed, “At RSB Global, we believe in the power of unity and the strength of women. Our ‘Ek Pahal’ initiative, in a short span of two years, has made remarkable strides in empowering our female employees and the surrounding community. The inspiring presence of our distinguished guests today reaffirms our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every woman can thrive. We look forward to continuing this journey of empowerment and excellence.”
The event highlighted collective initiatives through various activities and awareness sessions conducted throughout the year. The program included cultural performances and a skit by RSB employees, showcasing Indian culture and women empowerment.
‘Ek Pahal’ built on four foundation pillars including Learning & Development, Safety, Health & Hygiene, and Community Service, had a representative each to continue the annual activities. Pillar Leaders for 2023-’24, Anita Gupta, Athena Chakraborty, and Rachna Kumari, received appreciation certificates for their exemplary performance. Deepali Darekar received the runner-up award, and Amruta Patil won the Ek Pahal Annual Award.
During the celebration, the special guests shared facets of their inspiring journeys and motivated attendees to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience. Their presence and speeches reinforced the importance of women’s empowerment and the pivotal role of initiatives like ‘Ek Pahal’ in fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. The program was organized by RSB employees Jaya Singh, Gazal Bhamre, and Sapana Singh.
