Jamshedpur, July 19: A case of fraud involving Rs 8.5 lakh had been reported under the Golmuri police station, where a man was duped under the pretext of buying a shop. Rajesh Tiwari, a resident of Indira Nagar in Telco, filed an FIR against Jayanto Das for cheating him in a property transaction.
According to the complaint, Rajesh agreed to buy a shop in Golmuri and paid Rs 8.5 lakh to Jayanto Das after finalizing the deal. However, after receiving the money, Das refused to transfer ownership of the shop or return the money. When confronted on July 7, Das allegedly threatened to kill Rajesh.
The Golmuri police have registered the case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
