Jamshedpur: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West (RCJW) organized joint installation ceremony to induct the new office bearers of the Interact and Rotaract Clubs. The Interact Club is designed for school students aged 12 to 18, promoting service, leadership, and friendship. The Rotaract Club, on the other hand, is meant for youth aged 18 and above, focusing on personal development through social service and leadership. Just like Rotary Clubs, these clubs also witness a change in leadership every July.
RCJW sponsors Interact Clubs in the following schools: Beldih Church School, Narbheram Hansraj School, Motilal Nehru Public School, Vikas Vidyalaya, Kashidih School, DBMS Career Academy, Kerala Samajam Model School, Baridih High School, and a Rotaract Club at Karim City College.
The newly appointed Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers from all eight schools and one college were administered the oath of office by PDG Pratim Banerjee.
The oath was administered to all the new club teams by former District Governor, Rotarian Pratim Banerjee, who also serves as District Chair, New Generation Service Exchange, and Learning Facilitator.
Dr. Mohammad Riaz, Principal of Karim City College, was the chief guest on this occasion. He lauded the community service initiatives carried out by the Interact and Rotaract Clubs and thanked the Rotary Club for nurturing leadership among the youth. Assistant Governor Kusum Thakur spoke about Rotary International’s global efforts to foster leadership in the new generation.
RCJW President Rotarian Ashok Jha welcomed Chief Guest Dr. Riaz, PDG Pratim Banerjee, AG Kusum Thakur, principals of participating schools and colleges, Rotary members, moderators, Interactors, Rotaractors, and members of the press.
Key Rotarians who contributed significantly to the success of the event included Rotarian Amit Dey (Master of Ceremonies), Dr. Juhi Samarpita, Gurpreet Ruby Bhatia, Vinita Jha, Rishi Chandrani, Anjani Nidhi, Anu Sehgal, Sanjeev Sehgal, Anjani Sahay, Payal Rajan, the club’s first lady Vinita Jha, and Dr. Udyam Singh.
At the conclusion of the program, Club Secretary Rotarian Naman Agarwal presented the club report and shared information about upcoming events.
Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Director of New Generation, extended her heartfelt thanks to all the guests and expressed special gratitude to the management of Karim City College and to Rotaractors and Dr. Udyam Singh for their support.
She also acknowledged and appreciated the tireless efforts of Rotarians Anjani Nidhi, Amitabh Bakshi, Alaknanda Bakshi, Anupama Sehgal, Sanjeev Sehgal, Shraddha Chandrani, Payal Rajan, Ruby Bhatia, Monika Uppal, Anil Dhandhania, Jhuma Nidhi, Achinto Banerjee, Maitri Chakraborty, Vidya Tiwari, Kamlesh Tiwari, Neelam Vadera, B. K. Vadera, and Jhuma Nandi in making the event a resounding success.
