Rs. 10 lakh extortion demand lands man in jail

Jamshedpur, Dec. 5: Sonari police on Saturday arrested a man, who allegedly threatened to kill the family members of Shakti Singh, a resident of Sonari, if the latter did not pay Rs 10 lakh as extortion money. The accused has been identified as Ahmed Raza, a resident of Golmuri.

DSP (Headquarter II) Amar Pandey said that the accused threated to kidnap the child of Singh and rape and kill his wife if he did not cough up the demanded amount.

Pandey said Singh recieved a call on his mobile number 9334617436 and 7050417825 to pay Rs. 10 lakh as extortion money. The accused even tried to kidnap his child when the boy was playing outisde on December 3. However, the child�s scream foiled the kidnap bid.

Sonari police with the help of a teachnical team arrested Ahmed Raza and the latter is reported to have confessed his cri. Raza was sent to jail custody.
