Jamshedpur: Railway Police Force (RPF) personnel have launched a search for fire-crackers in different trains coming from Howrah to Tatanagar in view of Deepawali. A team of RPF personnel ran a surprise checking in Ispat Express and Jan Shatabdi Express on Monday. Sources said the commercial department employees and officers at Tatanagar have also been directed by the Chakradharpur Divisional headquarters to run a checking drive in trains and on platforms. The officials have been asked to be on alert to make sure that fire-crackers are not booked in the parcel vans of trains. No passenger is allowed to carry fire-crackers during train journeys, sources said, adding that stringent action would be taken against the offenders under the Railway Act.
