Rousing reception to Padma Shri Chhutni Mahto

Jamshedpur, Nov 11:  Members of Jharkhand Ekta Morcha (JEM) On Thursday, gave a rousing reception to Padma Shri Chhutni Mahto. The moment her aircraft touched down at the Birsa Munda International Airport, a roar of excitement went up as  Chutni Mahto stepped out of the aircraft. Led by JEM central committee president Aftab Khan, the members shouted slogans in appreciation for the lady who almost single handedly took the fight to rid society of the evil practices of torturing wopmen by dubbing them as withces and heretics. The government of India awarded her the nation’s fourth highest national honour, the Padma Shri Award. Aftab remarked, “You (Chhutni Mahto) are the pride of the people of Jharkhand. We are honoured that you are one of us. You are an example of strength and determination.” The JEM members who went to Ranchi to greet Padma Shri Chhutni Mahto included Atul Chandra Mahto, Shoaib Khan, Rinku Singh, Asharfilal, Kamlesh Upadhyay, Md Aurangzeb, Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Mahto, Faizan Khan, Shadab Khan, Meena Kumari, Maya Devi, Gudiya and Meenu Murmu.
