Jamshedpur, Jan. 29: In an effort to maintain the country’s ‘polio-free’ status, members of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West inaugurated 5 booths in Baridih Area by administering Polio Drops to children.
Abhijit Mitra, Pratim Banerjee, Sudip Banerjee, Achinto Banerjee, Shweta Chand and Alakananda Bakshi inaugurated the five booths.
The booths are set up in Baridih Health depot, TOP Baridih Basti, Naga baba Mandir in Baridih Basti, Government LP school and Sarna LP School in Bagunhatu.
Alakananda Bakshi , president of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, said, it is a wonderful experience to do the work jointly for which Rotary is known worldwide. It was also great to see awareness amongst people to make sure children are given two drops of life.
She further said that during world polio day, we did extensive awareness campaign for 3 days in different Slum areas to create awareness on importance of administering Polio Drops to children.
