Jamshedpur, March 9: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West celebrated Women�s Day in collaboration with Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) and the Inner wheel Club of Jamshedpur by introducing �Swachh� (Sanitary napkins made by the women, for the women) to the ladies of urban and rural areas on Tuesday, March 8.
They celebrated Women�s Day and introduced sanitary napkins to the women folk, produced by the local ladies named � �Swachh,� with organizations that work for the betterment of women in general.
Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West secretary Alakananda Bakshi along with RCC members, volunteers and well-wishers of the club, accompanied the doctors and volunteers team of TSRDS at Panchayat Bhavan, Muria, in Seraikela district. More than 150 ladies and girls were present during the celebration.
On behalf of TSRDS, Dr. Sardar, Dr. Tejeender, Dr. Manju and Smita Verma addressed the gathering and talked about importance of Women�s Day.
They also stressed on the importance of taking care of one selves, personal health and hygiene. They informed about the importance of using sanitary napkins and its benefits to the personal hygiene. Bimla Tirkey and Savita, head of local panchayat, spoke on various women related issues.
On behalf of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, Alakananda, Preeti Singh, well wishers and volunteers Sunita and Kavita spoke on the occasion and launched the sanitary napkins.
Kavita, who is part of the production team, explained why she valued the product so much. Everyone appreciated the product made by women for the women and promised to patronize the product. SHG groups were given samples for distribution.
