Rotary Jamshedpur, KPS Burmamines launch ‘Jagriti’

Jamshedpur, June 9: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur and KPS Burmamines jointly launched ‘Jagriti’ the ongoing literacy programne for the underprivileged adult women.

The Programme comes under the TEACH Programme of Rotary India Literacy Mission. T-Teacher Training, E – E learning, A – Adult literacy, C – Child Development and H – Happy School. Rotarians in large numbers attended the event.

Rotary president thanked director of KPS Burmamines Dr. Srikant Nair and Spouse Rachna Nair for partnering with Rotary club. The Programme will be implemented in the KPS Burmamines School during after school hours.

Varsha Chand also expressed gratitude towards team Kerala Public School Burmamines including Principal Harwinder Kaur , Vice Principal Barnali and teacher Ujjaini who have taken charge of its implementation .

Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Anita Gupta. She gave inspirational speech on women empowerment which was well rounded encompassing various facets and aspects.

Being a leading educationist of Jamshedpur, she retired as Principal, Jamshedpur Women’s College and she highlighted the role of literate mothers in bringing about transformation , not only in their families but also in the society.

Rotarian Dr. Bharat was also present. Sanjit Chawla , Rotary Sugarland , Houston , Texas , USA ( son of late PP Rtn.Balwant Singh ) whose funding made it possible to start and launch Jagriti .

Also present were Ramendralal Gupta, Kety Bhatena, VP Sangeeta Jha, Madhumita Santra, Mangilal Chawla, Capt Anil Kumar Pandey, Bheem Sen Banati, Sushil Dhawan, Raksha Dhawan, ML Agarwal, Suneet Kumar, Mona Bahadur, Vijay Vaidyanathan, Krishna Gupta, Ruchika Gupta, Ramsevak Dubey, Prof. Sharad Sarin, Mani Sarin, Varsha Chand, Anshika and others.
