Rotary fraternity of Jamshedpur soak in Bengali culture

Jamshedpur, Oct. 19: To renew love and friendship amongst all the members of eight Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur Bijoya Sammilani was celebrated at Institution of Engineers Hall on Sakchi on Wednesday.

The event was initiated by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Dalma and 7 other Clubs including Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Femina, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Couples,Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown and Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City who readily joined hands and together organised an evening which demonstrated unity and solidarity amongst rotarians of Jamshedpur.

Bijoya Dashami is observed as mark of celebration of victory over evil, love over hatred and selfishness.
The evening started with joint meeting of all Rotary Clubs.

President Suman Sarkar of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Dalma started the meeting and talked about upcoming events,which was followed by Presidents of other Clubs namely President Sharat Chandran, Alakananda Bakshi, Pritha Dutta, Ashish Das, Kamal Makati, Anand Kumar Agarwalla and Kailash Singhania.

After adjournment of meeting fun and fellowship started. There were games on Bengali Culture like competition of Conch Shell Blowing, Dhunuchi Dance, Candle lighting etc. Members of Rotary Clubs enjoyed Bengali special food like Keema Ghugni ,Jhalmuri, coconut ladoo, vegetable cutlet, Misti Doi, Nimki etc.

Members enjoyed Music, food, Games and soaked themselves in Bengali culture and ambience. Rotarians of Jamshedpur Dalma along with other Rotarians helped in making the programme successful.

It was an evening which bonded members through the thread of love and friendship, said Alakananda Bakshi, President of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West.
