Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East hosts District Governor’s official visit

Jamshedpur: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East proudly hosted the official visit of District Governor (DG) Rotarian Bipin Chachan and his wife, Rotarian Shilpi Chachan. The event brought together distinguished Rotarians and dignitaries from various clubs in Jamshedpur to discuss and celebrate the impactful community service projects undertaken by the club.

During the visit, DG Bipin Chachan highly appreciated the community initiatives led by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East. He particularly commended the significant work at the Siddheshwar Deaf and Dumb School (SDDS), Baridih. The school revamp project, which included infrastructure renovation, enhanced learning facilities, and improved educational support for differently-abled students, was widely praised. Students of SDDS showcased their talents through an impressive yoga performance, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees.

The Governor also visited the Saheli Centre at Nildih, where he was deeply impressed by the Swarn Rekha Women Empowerment Program. This initiative is dedicated to skill development and vocational training for underprivileged women. A key highlight of the visit was the graduation ceremony of the center’s vocational training batch, marking a significant milestone in improving the socio-economic status of women in the community.

The day’s proceedings continued with a meeting between DG Bipin Chachan and the board members of the club, followed by engaging interactions with Rotaractors and Interactors. A general meeting at Golmuri Club provided an opportunity for President Rotarian Subhrajit Basu to present a comprehensive report on the club’s accomplishments and ongoing projects for the year.

A significant moment of the event was the induction of four new members into the club: Mr. Manas Kumar Mishra, Dr. Priya Amitabh, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and Mr. Sujay Jayant Karnad. Their oath-taking ceremony was facilitated by PDG Pratim Banerjee, signifying their commitment to Rotary’s mission of service.

Further strengthening the club’s commitment to youth leadership, the Interact Club of Sabuj Kalyan Public School was officially installed during the event. This initiative, facilitated by Rotarian Simran Saggu, aims to nurture young leaders and instill a sense of service among students.

In his address, DG Bipin Chachan lauded the leadership and dedication of President Rotarian Subhrajit Basu, Secretary Rotarian Nidhi Basu, and the entire team for their unwavering commitment to community service and contributions to the Rotary Foundation. He encouraged them to continue their efforts in creating a lasting impact on society. The event also saw the presence of Assistant Governor Rotarian Nibha Mishra and Regional Director Rotarian Shweta Chand, who applauded the remarkable progress made by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East.
