Jamshedpur, July 2: In a move to promote environmental sustainability, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East organized a tree plantation drive on Wednesday at Arka Jain University in Gamharia. The campaign aligns with Rotary International’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community service. Led by former president Dr. S.S. Razzi, the initiative marked the second day of the new Rotary year 2025–26 with the plantation of 35 saplings.
Club President Rtn. Puneet Kauntia, Secretary Rtn. R. Santoshi and Director of Service Projects Rtn. Prantik Sarkar actively participated. Coordination and encouragement from Ms. Ritika Kauntia were especially appreciated. Other key contributors included Dr. Anup Gupta, Rtn. Kunal Kar and Kamani Kar. University students and faculty members also joined and the university administration committed to nurturing the plants.
“This drive is part of our long-term commitment to sustainability and a cleaner, greener future,” said Dr. Razzi. The initiative reflects the club’s ongoing efforts to raise environmental awareness and promote eco-conscious living under the motto “Service Above Self.”
