Jamshedpur, Oct 14: Rajnish Kumar, Honorary Secretary of Roshni, NGO working for the promotion of Eye Donation and subsequent transplantation of corneas to corneally blind person for restoration of eye sight, was recognized and felicitated for the work being carried out on the promotion of eye donation and providing vision to corneally blind person.
He is also the National Executive Council Member of Eye Bank Association of India.�
He was felicitated during the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Eye Bank Association of India held at Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi from 9 -11 October by Gautam C Mazumdar, Founder Vice President and Past National President of Eye Bank Association of India.�
The function was inaugurated by Lt. General(Rtd.) S K Sinha, PVSM, Ex Governor of Jammu & Kashmir & Assam and ex Ambassador to India in Nepal with senior Health Ministry Officials of Government of India Dharitri Panda, Joint Secretary, Dr. N K Agarwal, Deputy Director General and other government officials from Government of Delhi, doctors, technicians from different parts of the country, foreign delegates and representatives from different International and National NGOs working on vision and sight.�
Lt. General (Retd) S K Sinha who hails from Patna from where Rajnish Kumar also hails was so impressed that they both one to one discuss during lunch how to help promote Eye Donation in the State of Bihar which still today do not have a single Eye Bank though there are plenty of corneally blind person languishing for decades there.�
Rajnish Kumar who is also the First vice District Governor of Lions Clubs International has decided to work in this director with his counterpart and other lions members of Bihar who runs not only Lions Eye Hospitals but are also associated with various other medical institutions.�
