Roshni Jamshedpur Gets its first Eye Donor in 2015�

Jamshedpur : Roshni Jamshedpur got further encouragement in New Year as a responsible citizen Labhumati Keshavlal Rupani �who died due to cardiac arrest at the Tata Main Hospital donated her corneas for the service of the humanity.

She was 85 years old. On her death at six in the morning, her relatives immediately contacted Taru Lata Gandhi, President of Roshni. ��

All the formalities with regard to death certificate and consent of the family members were completed in no times and Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta, Senior Registrar, Ophthalmologist of��Tata Main Hospital with the help of a technician harvested both the corneas in the presence of the family member and Roshni Jamshedpur team.�

Roshni salutes the spirit of Rupani family residing in Uliyan, Kadam �for this noble gesture which has helped restore the sight of two corneally blind people who were waiting for years.

Roshni Jamshedpur of late is coordinating closely with Prova Eye Bank, Barrackpore, West Bengal in timely utilization of corneas and transplantation of corneas to the possible recipient.
