Jamshedpur, Dec 11: R.V.S. Academy celebrated its 25th Annual Sports Meet on Saturday with great enthusiasm and a vibrant display of athletic spirit on the school grounds. Students from all classes participated actively in the much-awaited event, which highlighted teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The celebration was attended by several distinguished guests, including Chairman Binda Singh, Secretary Bharat Singh, Treasurer Shatrughna Singh, Executive Committee Member Shakti Singh, and Ayushman Singh. The Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony, MLA Saryu Roy, inaugurated the meet and encouraged students to pursue excellence with dedication. The Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony was Charanjeet Singh, SDM, Dalbhum. Principal Veesha Mohindra and Vice Principal Puja Suman welcomed the dignitaries and guided the day’s proceedings.
The event began with a spirited Opening Ceremony. The symbolic Torch Relay, representing unity and perseverance, was led by Preeti Kumari, Rudraneel Mukherjee, Akshay Anand, and Vanshika. Head Girl Zahiya Nayeem administered the oath of sportsmanship. Colourful and well-coordinated drill displays captivated the audience as students of Std. 2 and 3 performed “Blooming Buds,” expressing joy and innocence. Std. 4 and 5 presented a drill celebrating 25 Glorious Years of the school, while Std. 6 and 7 showcased the Significance of Yoga through graceful movements. Nursery, LKG, and UKG students added charm with their fun activities.
A variety of track events, including thrilling relay races for boys and girls, kept the atmosphere lively throughout the day. The Parents’ Events for both men and women added further excitement and drew enthusiastic participation. The four houses—Rose, Violet, Sunflower, and Aster—competed with great zeal, making the event highly competitive. During the closing ceremony, the much-awaited results were declared, with Rose House emerging as the Overall Champion House, while Aster House was announced as the Runner-Up. Trophies for excellence in conduct were also presented, with Violet House winning the Best March Past Trophy and Sunflower House securing the Best Discipline Award.
Outstanding individual performers received Best Sportsperson Awards in various categories. The Super Senior awards went to Samir Das (Sunflower) and Sunanda Mahato (Aster), while the Senior category winners were Sangram Majhi (Aster) and Suman Kalundia (Rose). In the Junior category, Aryan Singh (Aster) and Priyanka Mahato (Sunflower) were honoured.
