10,000 fans cheer as Tata Motors beat Tata Steel 2-0 at JRD Tata Sports Complex
Jamshedpur, October 17: In a commanding performance at the JSA League Premier Division final, Tata Motors defeated Tata Steel 2-0 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, thrilling a crowd of over 10,000 spectators. The victory was powered by an outstanding display from Rohit Tigga, who scored two decisive goals in the 24th and 87th minutes, earning him the Man of the Match award.
The stadium buzzed with excitement as fans cheered passionately for their teams. Tata Motors took an early lead in the first half when Rohit Tigga scored a spectacular goal, putting his team ahead. Despite Tata Steel’s strong efforts in the second half, which included a few near misses and a shot that struck the crossbar, Tata Motors’ defense held firm. Rohit Tigga sealed the win with a second goal in the 87th minute, leaving no room for a comeback and ensuring a historic victory for Tata Motors.
The chief guest, D. Sundara Ramam, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel, presented the newly introduced rolling trophy of the JSA Premier Division to the champions, highlighting the legacy and prestige associated with the award.
Several individual accolades were also presented to recognize exceptional performances during the league. The P. Vijay Kumar Memorial Trophy for the highest goal scorer went to Vikash Naik of Tata Steel, presented by Varun Bajaj, Chief, Town Infrastructure & Logistics, Tata Steel. The Ramesh Mehta Memorial Trophy for the best goalkeeper was awarded to Budheshwar Hansda of Tata Motors, presented by Mr. Pranay Sinha, Chief Corporate Services, TSJ. Rohit Tigga received the K.C. Murmu Memorial Trophy for the best player in the final, while Tata Steel was honored with the S. Zubair Alam Memorial Trophy for fair play.
The runners-up trophy was handed to Tata Steel by Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary, President, Tata Workers Union, while the winner’s trophy was presented to Tata Motors by D.B. Sundara Ramam.
With this victory, Tata Motors has firmly established its place in JSA League history, demonstrating skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The win reflects the team’s consistent performance and strategic play throughout the tournament, delighting fans and setting a benchmark for future competitions.
