Rohan: 500 days and 50 thousand kilometers on padyatra and hitchhike to spread environ awareness

Jamshedpur, Feb 17: A 20 year old Rohan Agarwal is determined to carry the message of a pollution free India has thus far covered 10 thousand kilometers. In his novel padyatra, he made a halt in Jamshedpur where members of the Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan (PSZMS) accorded Rohan Agarwal a warm welcome at a function organized by the Sonari branch.

PSZMS president Ashok Modi and Sonari branch president Shyam Sunder Agarwal along with members welcomed young Rohan Agarwal at a special programme organized at Rajasthan Bhawan in Sonari. Rohan was gifted Rs 21,000 cash and presented a silver medal, bouquet and angavastram.

Narrating his experiences in the course of his padyatra, Rohan Agarwal said, “Over the last 500 days, I have covered 10 thousand kilometers on foot and 40 thousand kilometers by hitchhiking. My main objective of embarking on this padyatra is to encourage people not to use plastic, build national integrity and learn and propagate the multi hued culture of our country. My padyatra will conclude in the coldest place on earth, Siberia where the temperature plummets to -72 degrees Celsius.”

PSZMS members blessed and wished Rohan Agarwal on his unique mission.  District General Secretary Arun Gupta conducted the program and offered the vote of thanks. Those present at the reception ceremony included Ashok Bhalotia, Nirmal Kabra, Umesh Shah, Bajrang Agarwal, Vijay Khemka, Vivek Chaudhary, Ashok Agrawal, Lakhanlal Agarwal, Biswanath Sharma, Balmukund Goyal, Ashok Goyal, Shankarlal Mittal, Kamlesh Agarwal, Sanjay Sharma, Anita Agrawal, Shyam Sundar Agarwal, Ashok Dewan, Suresh Agarwal, Sarthak Agarwal and other community members were present on the occasion.
