Jamshedpur, Dec 5: Late on Saturday night, burglars broke open the locked residence of Biswarup Jana, a tenant in Manoranjan Patra’s residential area close to NH -49 and near the Shiristala Chowk at Baharagora and decamped with gold and silver jewelry and Rs 67,000. On receiving information of this burglary, a police team from Baharagora led by OC Kumar Saurabh and Inspector Rafael Murmu arrived at the spot to gather detailed information. Landlord Manoranjan Patra and tenant Biswarup Jana lodged a written complaint in Baharagora police station. According to the complaint, Biswarup Jana returned from his crop-field at 8.30 pm on Saturday to keep harvested paddy in the house. He found the lock at the main door broken. He reported the matter to his landlord, Manoranjan Patra who came to the spot immediately. The landlord too found the door lock of his portion broken and discovered that burglars had broken the almirah lock and decamped with a pair of gold earrings and Rs 5,000 in cash.
It may be mentioned that Biswarup Jana operates medical clinics on rent and had recently opened a medical shop near the clinic. In view of cyclonic weather, Jana had gone to his field in Malvandih to bring paddy crops home for safety. The landlord, Manoranjan Patra too was not at home and was staying in Baharagora with his family.
Baharagora PS IN-charge, Kumar Saurabh stated the case of robbery is being investigated by the police and they are considering several points linked to the burglary.
