Road congestion leads to exchange of blows in Kandra

Gamharia, Sept 29: Congestion on the Tata-Kandra road in front of Lal Building is becoming a regular feature with wayfarers having to bear the brunt of getting stuck in the traffic jam. Even walking along the sides of the road has become an arduous task especially with people out to make festive season purchases.

The prime reason of this traffic mayhem is the encroachment on the busy thoroughfare by traders with their wares. Frayed tempers ran high on Friday, September 27 evening when irritated travelers stuck in the jam rushed forward and started throwing the wares of the traders whose encroachment was causing traffic congestion. A brawl led to fisticuffs from both sides until local residents intervened and brought in some parity in the otherwise volatile situation. Arvind Mishra of Zila Ekta Manch has demanded of the district administration to take immediate action for removal of the encroachments.
