Rising Crime in Jamshedpur Sparks Concern, BJP Warns of Protest

Jamshedpur: Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the city, former BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar District President Dinesh Kumar on Wednesday alleged that increasing criminal activities have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among residents.

Referring to the shooting incidents reported at two separate locations under the Golmuri police station area on Monday night, Dinesh Kumar said the incidents clearly indicate that criminals no longer fear the law. He claimed that cases of snatching, theft, robbery, extortion, and firing incidents are rising continuously across the city, while the State Government and district administration have failed to control the situation.

He further alleged that common citizens no longer feel safe stepping out of their homes. Criticizing the police administration, he said that police patrolling in Golmuri has virtually collapsed and accused officials of focusing more on extortion and harassment rather than maintaining public safety.

Demanding immediate action from the government, Dinesh Kumar urged the administration to ensure the swift arrest of criminals, intensify police patrolling, and strengthen security arrangements across the city. He warned that if concrete steps are not taken soon to curb the rising crime, the BJP would be forced to launch a large-scale protest movement “from the streets to the legislative assembly” in the interest of the public.
