Retail Fish Market opens in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Banna Gupta,  Minister of Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, and Disaster Management, inaugurated a state-of-the-art retail fish market comprising 20 stalls. This significant addition to the community has been made possible under the centrally sponsored scheme, Blue Revolution, with an investment of approximately Rs 2 crore.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, District Agriculture Officer  Mithilesh Kalindi, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Surendra Kumar, and District Fisheries Officer Alka Panna.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister expressed the Jharkhand government’s unwavering commitment to advancing various development initiatives that uplift all segments of society. He extended his gratitude to the dedicated efforts of the district administration, which played a pivotal role in bringing the retail fish market to fruition.

Emphasizing the importance of hygiene, the Minister underscored that this market would ensure the availability of fresh fish in clean and sanitary conditions. He called upon all allottees to take responsibility for maintaining the market’s cleanliness.

During the event, special recognition was accorded to outstanding individuals in the field of fish farming. Fisheries Extension Officer Amarendra Kumar Verma and Matsya Mitras Swapan Kumar, Pradhan Chand Mahato, Namita Mohanty, Yadunath Soren, and Ravilal Bhuiyan were honored with citations for their exceptional contributions to the industry.

The inauguration of this retail fish market marks a significant step toward enhancing the availability of quality seafood to the residents of Dhatkidih and surrounding areas, promoting economic growth, and fostering a culture of cleanliness and hygiene.
