Jamshedpur: Bagbera Vikas Samiti has sent a memorandum to the chief minister with the demand of regularization of 11 slum colonies namely Garhabasa, Shyam Nagar, Anand Nagar, Bajrang Tekri, Baba Kuti, Naya Basti, Gandhi Nagar, Ram Nagar, Postu Nagar, Kitadih Gwala Patti and Sanjay Nagar Kitadih. The memorandum addressed to the CM was submitted in the DC office.
Samiti president Ganesh Vishwakarma said that the 11 slum colonies at Bagbera should be regularized in the same manner in which the State Government is trying to regularize 86 slums in Jamshedpur.
People have been residing in those colonies for the past 40 years and are deprived of all civic amenities. Also, benefits of government-sponsored development projects are not reaching the Bagbera slums.
During the times of undivided Bihar the slums were part of the Panchayats, but after Jharkhand was formed the slums were delisted from panchayat area, he said.
