Jamshedpur: A district-level event is scheduled to take place at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, on Republic Day. Minister Banna Gupta will lead the flag hoisting ceremony at 9:05 AM. The final rehearsal for the Republic Day parade was inspected on Wednesday by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and SSP Kishor Kaushal. The parade will include a JAP-6 platoon, three platoons of district police force (including auxiliary police), one platoon of district home guards, and two platoons of NCC (both female and male), along with participants from the Scout and Guide platoons. The parade rehearsal has been underway since January 20.
DC Manjunath Bhajantri also examined the preparations for the main event venue and expressed confidence that Republic Day celebrations at the district level would be grand. Flag hoisting will be observed at all government buildings and offices. City SP Mukesh Lunayat, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, and other officials were present at the venue.
In anticipation of Republic Day, the district police are on high alert, conducting checks in the city and launching search operations in rural areas to locate Naxalites. Special attention is being given to ensuring no untoward incidents occur during Republic Day celebrations, and heightened vigilance is being maintained. The police are conducting checks on cars, including inspections of car trunks, and scrutinizing motorcycles and scooters. On Thursday, hotels and lodges will also be inspected. The police are also investigating the backgrounds of recently released convicts to take appropriate action against any involved in criminal activities.
Tatanagar Station on high alert ahead of Republic Day
Jamshedpur: Tatanagar Railway Station is on high alert in preparation for Republic Day. Stringent security measures have been put in place, with the deployment of RPF and GRP. Bag scanning and passenger checks using metal detectors are being conducted. The Dog Squad has also been deployed. With more than 50,000 daily commuters passing through Tatanagar Station, Rail SP Rishabh Jha stated that comprehensive security patrols, in collaboration with RPF, are being carried out around the station premises, including the platforms and trains.
