Republic Day celebration: Jamshedpur sets benchmark with 100 days job guarantee under MNREGA


Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district has set remarkable benchmarks in rural development, particularly under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), by achieving its target of providing 100 days of employment to every family in rural areas. 

The district leads the state in implementing this scheme effectively. Other initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana, Abua Awas Yojana, Chief Minister Smart Village Scheme, MP Adarsh Gram Yojana, and Phulo Jhano Ashirwad Yojana are being implemented successfully, contributing to the holistic development of the region.

While addressing the 76th Republic Day at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, where  Minister of School Education, Literacy, and Registration Department, Ramdas Soren, made the above announcements. The event was attended by District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal, Senior Superintendent of Police  Kishore Kaushal, Project Director ITDA  Dipankar Chaudhary, and other senior officials.

The Minister called upon the cooperation of all the enlightened citizens and social workers of East Singhbhum district along with the district administration to provide the benefits of the schemes to the common people, only then can we achieve the goal. Let us all pledge to work together for the development of the state along with East Singhbhum district on this Republic Day and participate in the development of the state.

The celebrations featured a vibrant parade with eight contingents. NCC Girls secured first place, followed by District Armed Police (Men) and District Armed Police (Women). In the tableau competition, the Transport Department won first place, Civil Defence second, and Welfare Department third.


Ramdas Soren honored six gallant soldiers and their families for their bravery and sacrifice. District administration officials and police personnel were also felicitated for their dedication and exemplary work in implementing government schemes and maintaining law and order.

In his address, the  Minister emphasized East Singhbhum’s achievements: Health: The district ranked second in the state for addressing malnutrition and successfully implementing health schemes like the Chief Minister Gambhir Bima Upchar Yojana.

Education: East Singhbhum topped the state in secondary examinations and gained national recognition in sports and cultural events.

Welfare and Social Security: Schemes like the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme, Sona-Sobran Dhoti-Sari Yojana, and Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana are benefiting thousands of families.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies were conducted at multiple locations, including the Collectorate, Red Cross Bhawan, SSP Office, ITDA Office, and all block headquarters. Officials saluted the national flag, marking the occasion with pride and patriotism.

The celebrations concluded with a call for collective efforts to ensure inclusive development and realize the vision of the freedom fighters and leaders who contributed to India’s independence and the formation of Jharkhand.
