Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Thursday said that removal of encroachment from government land is quintessential for successful implementation of various government projects. He said the state government and the district administration were dedicated to the cause of development. He said the district administration was making sincere efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people of the city.
Kumar was speaking to a delegation comprising representatives of various social organizations of the city. The representatives termed the anti-encroachment drive of district administration as anti-public and anti-poor. They demanded that the anti-encroachment campaign should be immediately stopped in the larger interest of the people.
The DC said certain anti-development elements were misleading people by spreading rumours against the district administration and state government. He said the district administration had identified government land at different places across the city for public welfare schemes. But land sharks are encroaching upon such lands despite being warned by the administration to do so.
