Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Unseeded Md Fardeen and Ritabrata Sarkar sets up a summit clash in the Boys Singles Under 18 category of the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Championship Series 2018, been held at the clay courts of Beldih Club and United Club.
In semi finals of Boys Singles Under 18 match played on Thursday, Md Fardeen, who drubbed the top seeded Amit Rout en route to the semi finals did not falter much as he got the better of Arya Bhattacharya, also unseeded in the draw, by a straight 6-3,6-3. In the other semi final, it was yet another day for unseeded Ritabrata Sarkar who played phenomenal to oust 6th seeded Arunava Majumdar by a contesting 7-5,6-1.
Top 2 seeds in Boys Singles Under 14, Wyatt O’Brien and Arya Bhattacharya lived up to their billings as they entered the finals, which will be played tomorrow (December 7).
Top seed Wyatt O’Brien beat eight seeded Raghav Singhal by 7-6(2), 6-4. Second seed Arya Bhattacharya defeated third seed Tamoghna Das 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7).
The finals of the Girls Singles Under 14 will witness Bihar’s Prashansa Srivastava, seeded 2 in the draw against unseeded Maitree Diksha Rout of Odisha.
Earlier, in the semi finals match Odisha’s Maitree Diksha Rout beat Sumeira Jaiswal 6-1,6-1. Bihar’s Prashansa Srivastava defeated Prisha Bhattacharya seeded 4 by 6-1, 6-4.
Matches will start from 9:00 am tomorrow.
