Chaibasa, October 1: Indian Red Cross Society Chaibasa wing organized blood donation camp at its Chaibasa based office to commemorate the World Blood Donation Day on Saturday.
Kolhan DIG Shambhu Thakur inaugurated the blood donation camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the members of red cross society and the gathering, DIG said that No donation can be bigger than the blood donation as it keeps people away from cardiac problem and the body recovers the donated blood within 72 hours.
He cited an example that the rate of heart problem in females is less than males because of regular menstruation in females. DIG urged the people to come forward to donate blood. He also wished happy Navratri to the people of the region.
Sadar Chaibasa SDO Rakesh Kumar Dubey said that the red cross society is doing commendable job and hope it continues the noble work.
A large number of people turned out to donate blood in the camp. Present on the occasion was Chamber of commerce and Industries President, Lalit Sharma, Chamber secretary Madhusudan Agrawal along with a large number of members of red cross society.
