Red Cross collects 1119 units of blood

Jamshedpur: Volunteers of Indian Red Cross Society, Jamshedpur chapter, broke last year�s record by collecting as many as 1119 units of blood on the occasion of World Red Cross Day celebrated at Red Cross Building, Sakchi, on Thursday. Last year, 1012 units of blood were collected on Red Cross Day.

The camp was inaugurated by the Income Tax commissioner Dr Shwetabh Suman jointly with additional deputy commissioner Ganesh Kumar, SDO and vice president of Red Cross Prem Ranjan, industrialist Bailey Bodhanwala, Blood Bank secretary Nalini Rammurthy and few other dignitaries.

The blood donation started at 7.30 am. The blood donors were welcomed by the dignitaries and volunteers and motivated to continue donating blood.
