Re-Learn Foundation calls for a greener city

Jamshedpur, July 9: The Re-Learn Foundation today organized a one-day workshop on �Xtreme Recycling� at Dayanand Public School.

The programme saw participation of 150 students of the Dayanand Public school�s eco club members.

Mita Tarafdar, Principal Scientist (CSIR-NML), also the founder of the Re-Learn Foundation addressed a gathering of students on recycling. She runs a NGO named Green Garbage Bags (GGB), whose main objective is recycling of kitchen waste disposal. This is a voluntary step taken by the GGB to make the city plastic-free.

It not only promotes the green culture but also has provided employment to around 30 women; a remarkable feat in women empowerment.

Till now 2 schools- Dayanand Public School & Hill Top School has taken up this one year project. Students of the school were given lectures & presentations on Environmental consciousness.

Students were also divided into groups & instructed to spread this green message in their neighbourhood.

They will also recycle polythene bags & newspaper. The program was conducted under the supervision of Jampot Greens.
