Chakulia, November 24: On Friday, Regional Chief Conservator of Forests Ravi Ranjan came to the spot and investigated the case of death of two female elephants who were injured due to high voltage wire in Chakulia.
He obtained detailed information about the matter from the present Jamshedpur Forest Divisional Officer Mamta Priyadarshi and Chakulia Forest Field Officer in-charge Digvijay Singh.
Incidentally, a group of elephants got caught in the high voltage electric wire on the banks of the pond constructed behind Ganesh Rice Mill located in Ward No. 9 of Chakulia Nagar Panchayat.
Two of these elephants were injured by electric current. Within 24 hours, both the elephants died at different places.
Regional Chief Conservator of Forests along with Forest Department officials reached the spot and conducted a detailed investigation. After this they reached the field near Jwalbhanga village of Badamara Panchayat, where an elephant had died. The second elephant died in the cashew forest adjacent to Lakhan Chowk in Jamua Panchayat. Regional Chief Forest Conservator also reached here and investigated the incident site.
