Jamshedpur: RVS College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), hosted a Financial Awareness Program aimed at educating students on financial management and career opportunities.
Ranjan Prasad Singh, Regional Director of RBI, Jharkhand, was the chief guest, while Alfred Girish Tirkey, Assistant General Manager of RBI, graced the event as the special guest. They were welcomed by the college’s Dean of Academics, Dr Sharat Chandra Mahto and Dean of Administration, Prof. Krishna Murari, with bouquets. The institution’s Treasurer, Shatrughan Singh and Principal, Prof Dr Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, honoured the guests with shawls, mementoes and diaries.

The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Singh underscored the significance of financial management and the pivotal role RBI has played in India’s economic growth since its establishment in 1935. He interacted with students, discussing strategies for financial security in the digital age.
Tirkey elaborated on challenges in financial management and their solutions, offering insights tailored for aspiring engineers. Prof. Tiwari highlighted the program’s objectives in his welcome speech, while Singh stressed the importance of regularly hosting such initiatives.
The event concluded with a quiz competition and a session on RBI career opportunities. Winners received diaries, pens and sweets. The program also featured a tree plantation activity led by Singh.
Dr. Sudhir Jha delivered the vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of a fruitful session attended by students and faculty alike.
