Ravi Shankar Shukla takes charge as Saraikela-Kharsawan DC, underlines work priorities

Seraikela, July 28:  Ravi Shankar Shukla (IAS Batch 2012) took over charge as the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Saraikela-Kharsawan district from his outgoing counterpart, Arava Rajkamal. The new DC held a meeting with high officials of the district administration. DC Ravi Shankar Shukla underlined his priorities of implementing central and state government schemes in a timely manner, connecting eligible beneficiaries with welfare schemes and ensuring successful implementation of development projects in the district.

Outgoing Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal, while reflecting on his approximately two and a half years of service in the district, shared his positive memories and expressed gratitude to all the residents for their support during his tenure. He also appealed to extend support to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Ravi Shankar Shukla.

Present on the occasion were DDC Praveen Kumar Gagarai, ADC Girija Shankar Prasad, Project Director ITDA Sandeep Kumar Doraiburu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subodh Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr Vijay Kumar, Subdivisional Officers of Saraikela and Chandil, Additional Election Officer, District Public Relations Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, all Block Development Officers, all Circle Officers and other departmental officials.

DC inspects EVM Warehouse

Seraikela, July 28:  Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ravi Shankar Shukla conducted a quarterly inspection of the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) warehouse at the Community Hall in Saraikela. As per the directives of the Election Commission of India New Delhi, the District Election Officer, along with Assistant Election Officer Kanuram Nag and other officials, examined the procedures and security arrangements at the EVM warehouse.

During the inspection, they reviewed the sealed rooms for EVMs, CCTV cameras installed on the premises, deployment of security personnel, and fire safety measures, providing essential guidelines for enhanced security. The DC emphasized the importance of maintaining the credibility of EVMs in a democracy and instructed regular monitoring of the CCTV cameras installed in the building premises. He also ensured that proper sifting and security arrangements were in place. The Assistant Election Officer Kanuram Nag and District Public Relations Officer Sunil Kumar Singh were also present during the inspection.

New DC meets seven year old Kiran Mahto

Seraikela, July 28: In the office chamber at the District Headquarters, outgoing Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal handed over charge to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla. After assuming charge, the new Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla had a meeting with Kiran Mahato, a 7-year-old resident of the Rajnagar Block, and her father Ranjit Mahato. It is known that Kiran Mahato was suffering from hydro-pneumothorax and MPMAS (a medical condition).

Upon receiving information about Kiran Mahato’s health, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal took immediate action, and after treatment for over a month at Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur, and RIMS Ranchi, Kiran has returned home in good health. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla inquired about Kiran Mahato’s health and education and assured them of any necessary support in future. During this meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla and the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal presented Kiran Mahato with gifts, including teddy bear dresses, educational materials, chocolates, and extended best wishes for her well-being and continued education. District Education Officer Jitendra Kumar Sinha, District Public Relations Officer Sunil Kumar Singh, Project Officer Santona Jain, and others were present on the occasion.
